Kim Soo-hyun Wins Court Order to Seize Luxury Properties of Garo Sero’s Kim Se-ui, But Involved in Another Property Seizure?
In a significant development in the high-profile legal battle between actor Kim Soo-hyun and controversial YouTuber Kim Se-ui from Garo Sero Research Institute, the Seoul Central District Court has granted a provisional seizure of two luxury apartments owned by Kim Se-ui, following a request from Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist.

Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative, LKB & Partners, issued an official statement, “The court has indeed approved the provisional seizure of properties under Kim Se-ui’s name.” Kim Soo-hyun’s side explained, “This provisional seizure is a preemptive measure related to the damages lawsuit. It aims to secure assets in advance, considering that even if we win the case, actual compensation could be difficult if the defendant lacks assets.”
According to a June 11 report by Money Today, the court issued the order on June 9, allowing the agency to seize two properties: a 120.27m2 unit in Seocho Buksan Blooming and a 208.65m2 unit in Apgujeong-dong Hanyang Complex 4. While the Apgujeong property is co-owned with Kim’s sister, the seizure applies solely to his 50% share.
Gold Medalist is claiming a total of 4 billion KRW, with 2 billion KRW secured against each property, as part of a broader 12 billion KRW civil lawsuit for damages.
Attorney Noh Jong-eon from Law Firm Jonjae explained, “The court likely found reasonable grounds in the claimed damages. However, since this is a provisional seizure, Kim Se-ui’s rebuttal has yet to be reviewed. The final compensation could change after a full hearing.”
Current market estimates value the Seocho property at around 2.5 billion KRW, while a comparable unit in the Apgujeong complex recently sold for 8.87 billion KRW. However, concerns remain as both properties reportedly carry significant outstanding loans, potentially complicating full damage recovery.
Kim Soo-hyun Is Also Facing Another Property Seizure?
According to a Woman Sense magazine report dated May 20, the Seoul Eastern District Court accepted a ₩3 billion KRW (approx. $2.2 million USD) provisional seizure request from Classys Co., Ltd., targeting Kim’s luxury apartment in Galleria Foret, Seongsu-dong, reportedly worth around ₩13.5 billion KRW. Kim’s team has not confirmed details, stating that they are still verifying facts.
These developments are unfolding alongside Kim Soo-hyun’s ongoing lawsuits against both Garo Sero and the family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron. The feud began in March 2025, when Kim Se-ui alleged via his YouTube channel that Kim Soo-hyun had an “inappropriate relationship” with actress Kim Sae-ron during her underage years. Gold Medalist initially denied the claims but later clarified that the relationship began in mid-2019, after Kim Sae-ron had become a legal adult.
The controversy has since escalated into a legal firestorm. Gold Medalist filed both criminal charges and a civil suit against Kim Se-ui and Kim Sae-ron’s family, citing defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and violations of sexual violence laws. In retaliation, Kim Sae-ron’s family filed a complaint against Kim Soo-hyun, accusing him of violating child welfare laws and making false accusations.
